This article touches on some other discussion here on the board...that is... its not necessarily how much you make, its how much you make compared to your friends and peers that influences your happiness. Thats a tough situation for both sides of a friendship when the financial picture changes for one of the parties.

Just like the recent research discussing how our friends influence our weight, no doubt my friends, peers, workmates influence my thoughts about what I need vs what I want. It is amazing...the process of an item or service shifting from want to necessity.

I guess its unavoidable but some of my good friends are now beginning to take different paths. A lot of it has to do with career and money. We have different interests and priorities these days. I think it will be challenging to stay as close.
