Loved her book, Generation Debt. She really did her homework and lays it out there.

I wanted to comment on the student loan situation. First of all it makes me sick to find out all the dirty business is going on. It also makes me really question the gaols and values of this country. I'd like to think that the youth of this country are viewed as a resource to be nutured. Instead it seems we are just another vechicle for corporate profits. We as young adults are already looking at paying the price for the Boomers self indulgence and irresponsibility.

I've got a good job but plenty of student debt. I can't help but wonder if I was taken advantage of. And whats my recourse?

Like the site by the way. Hope some other people show up.

Am I the only one who feel this way?! I sure hope not.

I agree with you Greenthumb. I think it is very important to maintain good credit and not fall into a lot of debt when you are younger. Its hard to dig out of. Getting things established, a career, a home is difficult enough. Being overly stressed about finances is a heavy burden. My parents were poor role models for me, never really taught me about how to manage money, and I realize now they are not very good at it themselves. Watching them struggle made me want to do beter for myself.

I haven't read this book, but I agree with some of the comments here. The youth is the future of this country. We need to be supported. Education is a big part of that.

Just finished this book. I'd highly recommend it for everyone, young and old alike. It lays out an important and troubling reality...the complicated and difficult financial picture of the young adults, much of it outside of their control and with implications for all generations...
