Companies that woo and retain employees by offering mothers flexible schedules may not antcipate a backlash from others who consider it unfair.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!

My hope on this day is that we as a country will take the time to honor mothers, realize what a wonderful but difficult a role it is, and note how well-raised children are a benefit to our society.

I also hope more companies will develop flex-time situations so working mothers are better supported to tend to both their children and work.

I think you are right blueskies. I hope our society will continue to move in a direct that reflects valuing children and young adults.

I agree with you both. I think the flex-time issues is in a sense a bell-weather for our country's values and goals regarding our children and youth.

I'm also inclined to say its a shame that nothing must get in the way of "doing business".
