Almost half of American workers did not take all of their vacations days last year, even though many reported being "burned-out" by their jobs.

I'm one of those who doesn't take all my vacation time. The fact is I feel like my job is precarious. I have to do more than the job description in order to feel like I'm doing whats expected of me.

I am not sure whether a two-week vacation yearly would even help. It is more about the daily pressure and stress rather than the great vacation of the year. I am probably one of those who take vacations there and there but I still need to to more than that to not feel the tire of my work. What do people do when they don't work? I haven't figure that out yet. Of course, other than TV. This does count as an action.

When you ask what people do when they do not work, are you referring to free time, spare time. or when unemployed?

I thnk vacations are important, but I also think I need to take care of myself daily. Its easy for me to lose track and find myself on autopilot.

I'm with redshoe on this, I feel like it is more important to find a mini-vacation almost everyday. The big week-long vacations are great but I need the escape daily.
